Founded in 1981, the Association's mission is to benefit businesses, institutions, property owners, residents, and visitors by promoting socioeconomic stability and growth and encouraging the preservation and appreciation of the neighborhood's diversity and history. We envision building on the Warehouse District's rich and powerful history and the return of activity and opportunities that once existed here - a truly urban Toledo neighborhoods that encourages a harmonious blend of residential, commercial, retail, and service components that create an environment in which to live, work and visit that is unlike any other in the metropolitan area.
Diane T. Keil-Roe, President
Diane has been a part of the association since 2001 and president since 2008. Her day job is Vice President of Knight Crockett Miller Insurance Group, a Warehouse District business. "I love these old buildings and the neighborhood that we enjoy. The Warehouse District has become that Urban Village that we envisioned over 25 years ago. We want more people to be aware of what a gem Downtown Toledo has."
Ken Knight, Treasurer
Ken was one of the first Warehouse building owners in the 1980s to take a chance on a dilapidated building. When he bought 22 North Erie Street, it had been unoccupied for over 30 years and had holes in the roof and floors. Today, it is occupied by 25 people on two floors. We enjoy interior brick walls, original hardwood floors, and high ceilings. Ken has been a huge supporter of the TWDA since his arrival in the District, donating thousands of dollars to the cause.
George Gusses, Vice President
George is the immediate Past President of TWDA, having served for 5 years. George occupies the restored Village Law Office on Huron Street.
